Are memberships still available for purchase?

No, memberships are no longer available for purchase. Individuals interested in supporting the Detroit Fashion Community can now sign up to donate or join the team through the revamped DFC website.

What happens to existing members?

Existing members will retain access to their benefits until their membership expires. Upon expiration, each member will receive a contact invitation to become a donor and continue their support.

What is the difference between membership and donorship?

Donorship is an extension of our membership programs, offering a platform for individuals to support the Detroit Fashion Community by donating resources to fund our initiatives.

Is there a cost associated with attending DFC Connects?

To maximize our impact on the community, we now request a donation to accompany your reservation for DFC Connects. There are various donation levels available to suit different budgets. Donors and current grandfathered-in members will enjoy complimentary access to DFC Connects events.

Who is the point of contact for previous members?

For current members, the point of contact is the Director of Engagement, while the contact for current donors is the Director of Sponsorship.

What happens to the DFC GroupMe?

The DFC Member GroupMe will remain open to Directors, Committee Members, Volunteers, and current/existing members. New donors will be added upon request, and no members/previous members will be removed from the GroupMe. 

What about Member Monday?

Our marketing efforts will persist as a tool for building awareness within the Detroit Fashion Industry. Member Monday posts will transition into a Community Spotlight post after ensuring each member receives proper acknowledgment.

What are the different tiers of the DFC Donor Program?

Our DFC Donor Program provides three distinct tiers for supporters to upgrade their donor status. The first two options include becoming a Socialite or Executive member. Socialite donors contribute between $50-$150 annually, while Executive donors contribute between $150-$300 annually. The third tier is available for corporate donors making contributions exceeding $500 annually.

What are the benefits of the DFC Donor Program?

DFC donors enjoy exclusive perks such as discount codes for each DFC Connects event, allowing them to bypass the required donation on Eventbrite. Executive Donors receive an honorary DFC Donor pin as a token of our appreciation. Additionally, our Director of Sponsorship is actively working on developing additional benefits for corporate sponsors tailored to each tier or initiative.

What if a corporation is interested in becoming a donor?

Corporations eager to join as sponsors are encouraged to reach out to us at contact@detroitfashioncommunity.org. In Q1 of 2024, we will be prioritizing the development of specific sponsorship packages tailored to both general contributions and initiative-specific partnerships. We look forward to collaborating with corporations keen on supporting the Detroit Fashion Community's mission.
