A major component of the Detroit Fashion Community’s mission is to reach, enrich, and support the community at large by volunteering, nourishing the community with ample resources to thrive, and giving back to educational institutions, lending a helping hand whenever the opportunity presents itself. In addition to initiatives like DFC Giving Week —a week-long effort to collect donations of professional attire for interviews and day-to-day career wear donated to members of the community— the DFC melted its efforts to empower every person with creative aspirations into their monthly ‘DFC Connects’ networking event.

On May 3, The DFC invited fashion entrepreneurs, models, influencers, designers and creatives from metro-Detroit and beyond to a night of networking and content creation at Executive Studio. Founded by husband and wife Maurice Lucas and Lakelia DeLoach-Lucas in 2022, the unique content creation space provides luxury branding and lifestyle Content Pods™️ available for rent to business owners, content creators, podcasters, and photographers highlighting their businesses and passions.

This month’s ‘DFC Connects’ featured access to Executive Studio’s eight Content Pods™️ and encouraged guests to create as much content as possible! Executive Members of the DFC in attendance were granted complimentary entry and exclusive access to the DFC Executive Suite, where members of the DFC’s Board of Directors conducted podcast interviews.
